Event Rescheduled – Excess Winter Deaths: Facing Public Health Challenges Together

On Thursday 10th March, we are holding a County Durham Healthy Homes Partnership Event entitled: ‘Excess Winter Deaths: Facing Public Health Challenges Together.’

The aim of the event is to bring partners together to celebrate achievements made over the last 12 months in tackling Excess Winter Deaths and fuel poverty, as well as look ahead and consider future challenges and opportunities in the context of budget cuts and government reorganisation.

We have Anna Lynch, Director of Public Health for County Durham, confirmed as our keynote speaker, and she will be providing a local and strategic context around preventing Excess Winter Deaths, and exploring older people’s health and partnership working.

This event unfortunately had to be postponed in December due to weather conditions. It promises to be a really exciting event for the CDHHP and we will be sure to feedback after the event. If you would like to attend, email: sarah.lee@est-ne.org.uk or rebecca.crossan@est-ne.org.uk before Tuesday 1st March 2011.
